The Role

As an experienced Finance Manager, the successful postholder will play a key role in leading a team of management accountants, who are responsible for running monthly processes, reporting and analysis of PureGym UK as well as the finances for the Franchise and Group divisions, plus our US operations, PureFitness.

 

The successful candidate will also be responsible for reviewing and reconciling financial and operational data and providing support to our business stakeholders.

 

Additional Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation and review of month end schedules, accruals, prepayments, and reconciling balance sheet figures
  • Primary responsibility and review of property accounting, including rent and rates, service charges, insurance across the UK business.
  • Monthly review of results and commentary on variances
  • Responsible for the preparation of budgets and quarterly reforecasting across the UK and international divisions.
  • Presentation of performance and variance analysis to Directors at month end close meetings across UK, Group and International divisions.
  • Responsible for overseeing the quarterly VAT returns and business partnering with the Group Head of Tax to ensure tax compliance across the group.
  • Responsible for all accounting and reporting relating to the franchise business in the Middle East including the monthly billing process, revenue recognition, cost management, accruals and debtor management.
  • Responsible for all accounting and reporting relating to our US entity, PureFitness, from invoice approvals, trial balance to preparation of management accounts and reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Management of inter-company recharges and transfer pricing across the group.

The Person

  • A Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with proven experience delivering monthly accounting.
  • Passionate about PureGym and understands how accounting function can best serve wider business needs.
  • A high achiever who is looking to be part of an energetic, fast-growing business.
  • Someone who is happy to be hands on and work on their own initiative but also be able to work together as a team to meet key deadlines such as the month end accounts.
  • Proven ability in building strong working relationships and networks to enable success – across and outside of the business.
  • Challenges status quo, always seeking ways to improve processes to increase efficiency and add value.
  • Strong attention to detail, and proven ability to work to deadlines through effective time management.
  • Excellent excel skills.
  • Experience with producing VAT returns would be preferred.
  • Experience of working with Sage 200 would be an advantage, but not essential.
